Blog Entry #1: Learning About Blogs

A blog, often known as a weblog, is a frequently updated online page that is used for commercial or personal comments. A area where readers can leave comments is usually included at the bottom of each blog article because blogs are frequently interactive. The three blogs I read were TMZ, Rolling Stone and Billboard.

TMZ:

The phrase "Thirty Mile Zone" first appeared in the 1960s when studios formed a "thirty mile zone" to oversee regulations for filming in Hollywood as a result of the expansion of location shots. The offices of The Association of Motion Pictures and Television Producers, once located at Beverly and La Cienega Boulevards in Los Angeles, served as the zone's focal point. The thirty mile zone was recreated by TMZ, which is now the Internet's top destination for entertainment news.

I enjoy this site since it focuses on what's happening in the world, but I don't like it because it occasionally gets a little too intimate with what's happening in celebrities' lives, emphasizing the bad. Launched in 2005, TMZ has experienced a spectacular growth because to its consistent prowess at breaking celebrity news. The site is structured with the way TMZ follows celebrities to their places of employment, abode, and leisure, immersing readers in a world where the truth is oftentimes even more fascinating than the hype. With precision, irreverent humor, and youthful enthusiasm, TMZ delivers the biggest entertainment news as only it can. Through its broadcast and online channels, TMZ engages the audience by offering a new, frank, and honest perspective on celebrities and their real lives.

In order to focus the reader's attention on what is most relevant, TMZ uses a format that divides its content into parts with clear headings, modifies language components, and intersperses images and other material.

ROLLING STONE:
Dedicated to covering music, politics, and popular culture, Rolling Stone is a monthly publication published in America. Together with music critic Ralph J. Gleason, it was established in 1967 in San Francisco, California. Hunter S. Thompson's political reporting and rock music coverage made it famous in the beginning.
This blog appeals to me since it offers news and coverage of the entertainment industry, including reviews of movies, TV shows, music albums, and celebrities. Interactive source for magazine content and historical rankings. On November 9, 1967, the very first issue was released, with John Lennon on the cover. Rolling Stone was designed to be a gauge of the generation of students' aesthetic preferences and political sensibilities. The journal skillfully blended enthusiasm with professionalism, use both formal English and "street language." The intention is to emphasize popular culture, politics, and music. This site makes me curious about the music industry and the culture that informs particular musical genres.

BILLBOARD:
The most powerful music media company in the world, Billboard reaches millions of music fans through Billboard.com and Billboard Events as well as key executives and tastemakers in and around the music industry through Billboard Magazine, Billboard.biz, Billboard Conferences, Billboard Bulletin, and other targeted newsletters. The Billboard brand is based on its exclusive charts and unmatched reporting on the most recent events, problems, and musical trends. Every day, Billboard receives hundreds of millions of brand impressions because to its numerous strategic partnerships with       powerful businesses in a range of industries.
I enjoy this site because it offers you the inside track on what's happening in the music business in terms of the music charts and who/what albums are popular as well as tips on fashion, etc but I don't like it since it doesn't discuss what's happening. Billboard's mission is to provide information about the music industry, including music charts, news, video, opinions, reviews, events, and fashion.

  1. Hi Deasia. You're right about the TMZ blog. It does show to much personal information about celebrities' lives. The Rolling Stones blog is more balanced regarding the style and tone. So is Billboard blog. The format has detailed information about the music and albums.

  2. I loved that you gave an explanation of what each blog is about and what they specialize in. Although TMZ does provide much in celebrities’ lives, all 3 blogs have a good balance between photographs and content. They all know their audience and it is portrayed in their blogs.
