Entry #10: Childhood Movie
In this blog I will talking about one of my favorite childhood movies I watched growing up
Tiana, a seamstress's daughter living in New Orleans, spends her days at the residence of the La Bouffs, a well-to-do family. Tiana and Charlotte La Bouff, a daughter of the La Bouffs, grow up as lifelong friends. The Frog Prince is a tale about a girl who kissed a frog, and the frog magically transformed into a prince for the girl to marry, as related to them by Tiana's mother. Tiana has more straightforward aspirations than Charlotte, who wants to wed a prince someday. She wants to become a well-known cook.Twenty years later, Tiana is still working nonstop shifts at a neighborhood diner in order to save up money for the purchase of a structure that she can turn into a restaurant. Charlotte, who is more determined than ever to marry a prince, learns that Prince Naveen, a young man, will be traveling to New Orleans. In order for them to meet, she makes her father throw a ball, and she agrees to give Tiana anything she wants for catering, giving her the money she needs to finally purchase her building. Meanwhile, royal Naveen is not your typical royal because he lacks a work ethic and is lazy, and as a result, his money has disappeared.
Doctor Facilier, a witch doctor, offers to give Lawrence, Naveen's henchman, something that will improve both of their lives. It turns out to be a trick: Lawrence's physique is altered to resemble Lawrence's while Naveen is transformed into a frog. Lawrence is advised by Facilier to wed Charlotte so they can both gain access to the large La Bouff family fortune. As a frog, Naveen enters the ball where he encounters Tiana. Tiana agrees to give him a kiss after recalling the previous tale. But instead of changing Naveen into a prince, it also transforms Tiana into a frog.
Naveen and Tiana escape Facilier and Lawrence's grasp by running into the bayou's wetlands. A jazz-loving gator named Louie and a firefly named Ray who promises to take them to the swamp witch Mama Odie are among the talking animals they encounter. They have until the stroke of midnight to break the magic before it becomes permanent, according to Odie, and Naveen needs to kiss Charlotte in order to do it for both of them. In an effort to dodge Facilier and prevent turning into frogs forever, Naveen and Tiana sprint back to New Orleans.
Hi Deasia. I loved your post about the Princess and the Frog. I remember watching it years ago with my family. It was a very good story. I loved the part where Tiana and Naveen got married in the bayou and transformed back into a human. Great work.
